Breakfast and Bowling Birthday Party

We celebrated Kaleb's birthday today with Kaleb's friends by having a Breakfast and Bowling Party. Kaleb doesn't care much for cake or cookies but he does love donuts, so we decided that we would have a Breakfast and Bowling Party. Kaleb invited 7 of his closest friends. His guests were: Tevan Albrecht, Will Searle, Thayne Ward, Damion Ohlsen, Caleb Bradford and Lukas Mendoza.

When Kaleb's friends arrived they came in and gathered around our kitchen table, where we served a breakfast of donuts and then let the boys choose whether they wanted chocolate milk or orange juice to drink. The little bottles of orange juice were a hit!!

We all sang Happy Birthday to Kaleb and I couldn't get over the TEN  candles we had to light on his maple donut (his favorite)! I am having a hard time accepting that my eldest is 10 years old! It truly seems like yesterday that we were driving home with him at the hospital! I feel a little bit old!

After Breakfast was served and Happy Birthdays were sung, we headed into the living room where Kaleb opened his presents from his friends. He was extremely spoiled by his friends and got lots of cool "boy things" to keep him occupied, Legos, a Boomerang, more Legos, and Nerf guns. He also got lots of candy, which I am sure he will hoard in his bedroom until next Halloween. Kaleb takes his sweet time eating candy!

After presents were opened we loaded up the boys in the car and made our way to Delton Lanes, a new bowling alley here in Riverton. It was such a great, clean facility. I am sure we will be frequent visitors here; especially with their great deal of $35 dollars an hour which covers 10 people and shoe rentals. The boys had a great time bowling!

All the boys seemed to have a great time and Kaleb seemed to really enjoy spending the morning with his friends. After checking out and turning in our bowling shoes, we handed out the boys party favors, which included a Bowling Pin Water Bottle and a sleeve of extra large gum balls. I found a cute tag on Pinterest that said, "Thanks for "sparing" the time to come to my party!"
Happy Birthday Bud! Your Family and Friends love you! You are growing up to be such a great kid and we are so proud of you!

Birthday Time!

When did I get to be so old? I turned 33 this year. I am kind of getting to the point in my life where I don't want to keep track of how old I am and just enjoy living! I am loving my 30's and I love how I finally feel secure in who I am and what people think of me doesn't seem to bother me so much. I truly just enjoy being me and spending my time doing things that make me happy and spending my time with others who make me happy and make me a better person. However, I feel like Time seems to be speeding up and I hate that feeling.
Despite feeling older, I did, however, have a nice birthday. Mark took the day off from work and we went and saw Disney's movie "Maleficent" while the kids were ate school. We also went to lunch too. I had a nice relaxing day and Mark and the kids spoiled me rotten!
A week later, we went out to eat for my big birthday dinner with our friends, Joe and Crystal Albrecht. Crystal also has a June birthday and we begged our husbands to take us to the Melting Pot  Fondue Restaurant to celebrate our special days for a joint celebration and date night. It was a great evening! We had a great time visiting, enjoying each other company and gorging ourselves on delicious fondue!

The Birthday Girl Is 6!

Its so hard to believe that our baby girl is 6 years old! For me it really does seem like yesterday that we brought her home from Primary Childrens Hospital after her open heart surgery and our stay there for a month. Those are days I wish to never repeat or relive again. Each day I am grateful for modern day medicine and gifted and talented surgeons. I know that if Karmindy had been born even 15 years ago she wouldn't be here with our family today. Each day is a gift with both Kaleb and Karmindy and being their mom has been such a blessing to me in my life. Both of them are so different, yet so similar. They both bring so much love, laughter and joy into our household. I am truly a blessed woman!
On the day of Karmindy's birthday, life went about pretty normally. We had our usual morning routine of getting both the kids ready and off to school. After the kids got home from school, we hurried to open presents from Mom & Dad, Kaleb, Grandpa & Nanna D and GBob and Gma Laurie. Karmindy got extremely spoiled by everyone. She received money, Frozen dolls, new dresses, a Fabric doll and a friendship bracelet kit. What a spoiled little lady!
After presents were opened, we had to hurry and get ready to attend Kaleb's Spring Piano Recital that evening. After the piano recital, we headed to dinner at Chili's. Chili's was Karmindy's choice and she was so excited. We learned later why she wanted to go to Chili's and it was because, "They sing to you and bring you yummy icecream!" I think our little lady sure enjoys having lots of attention! Karmindy seemed to have a nice day and we hope we made it nice for her. Since her birthday fell in the middle of the week, we decided to throw her birthday party on the weekend so we would have more time to celebrate. We love you Karmindy! You bring so much joy and laughter into our home. You have an amazing little spirit and keep us laughing with your quick humor and loving nature. We love you sweet heart!

Harry Potter Birthday Party

For Kaleb's Birthday this year, he requested a Harry Potter Birthday party. We love all things Harry Potter at the Frisbey home and since Mark and Kaleb have been reading the books together at night, Kaleb has become an even bigger fan. So requesting a Harry Potter Birthday Party didn't come as a shock to me. About a month before Kaleb's birthday, I got an early start on planning his birthday party. I turned to the website, Pinterst, to get some inspiration and was shocked with how many fun Harry Potter Birthday Party ideas that were out there.  So naturally I started making stuff for Kaleb's party so I could have everything to go for his big day! For the invites, we made "Owl" invites. I got white balloons and drew owls on them and attached a letter addressed to each of Kaleb's guests. I tried to make the invites look like the real "Owls" that Harry Potter received when he was accepted to Hogwarts. I think they turned out pretty awesome and Kaleb had a really fun time dropping them off at all the guests homes. The guests were pretty excited about their invites too.
After we got the invites passed out, I went to work on putting together the guests gift bags to take home. I customized each guests bag with their name and added a Marauders Map that I printed off the internet and folded, a wand, pop rocks, ring pop, Starbursts, and a pooping firework.I have to say the gift bags were pretty awesome. I was tickled with how they turned out. Kaleb was also pretty excited!
On the night of the party, Kaleb was so excited! All his guests came but one. So he had an excellent turnout! For Kaleb's party, after the guests arrived, we had them all come into the living room, where they would choose their wands. The guests had to close their eyes and choose a wand out of a bucket. I mad the wands out of wooden dowels and hot glue. I then painted them different colors. I loved how the wands turned out. To be honest I kind of became attached to them and didn't want to let them go after all the time I spent making them. However, it was easy to let them go when I saw how excited Kaleb's friends were to get one. After the wands were chosen, we invited the kids into the kitchen were I had our kitchen table decorated with skulls, Harry potter books and lanterns. The kids were then able to make "Popcorn Potions." The kids could add how much popcorn to their bowls and we had different candy they could put into their bowls. The kids thought this was so awesome!! We had candy's that were mentioned from the films, like Dumbeldores Lemon Drops, Berty Botts Every Flavored Beans, and Licorice Snaps to name a few. To drink, the kids got to have a Butter Beer (Cream Soda).

After all the popcorn potions were made, the kids were invited back into the Living Room where we opened presents, took pictures and sat down to watch the 1st Harry Potter Move: The Sorcerer's Stone. All of Kaleb's friends seemed to have a great time at the birthday party. The birthday boy also seemed to enjoy himself. I sure love planning parties for my kids and I hope they will always remember how much I love them. Happy Birthday Kaleb! I love you!

Kaleb's Guests Included: Front Row- Thayne Ward, Karmindy Frisbey, Adilynne Hagen, Kaleb, Eli White, and Tevan Albrecht. Back Row- Aidan Rollins, Jake Wallin, and Aidan Dressen.

Look Who's 9!

I can't believe Kaleb is 9 years old! I know that I always express how much it seems like yesterday that I brought him home from the hospital but it truly does! I don't know how time can fly by so quickly. My little baby isn't much of a baby anymore...he is a young man! This makes me sad because I just wish that I could bottle up my kids and keep them young forever. I love having them home with me and being with them.
This year for Kaleb's birthday he was off track which made it nice. Because he didn't have school we all slept in and had a nice easy going morning. Kaleb woke up to a balloon bouquet decorated table (a family tradition) with presents, donuts and treats. For breakfast we broke out the donuts and had donuts and milk (birthday boy's request) and then opened family gifts. Kaleb was really spoiled and got a new outfit (sweater, jeans and a beanie), Skylanders gaming system for the xbox and some travel games from his Grandpa And Grandma DeMille. Several days later, Grandma and Grandpa Frisbey sent a card with some money. Kaleb was really spoiled and loved his gifts.
This year Kaleb requested to Have a Harry Potter Birthday Party and his wish was granted. We decided to spend the day together as a family on his birthday. The night of his birthday, he requested to go to Chili's for dinner. Kaleb loves their chips and Salsa and Macaroni and Cheese. The servers also brought him an ice cream Sundae and sang to him. He seemed to love all the attention even though he got a little embarrassed with them singing to him. We decided to have Kaleb's birthday on the weekend so he could have a "late night" Harry Potter Movie Birthday bash so he and his friends could stay up late!
Kaleb we are so proud of you and the young man that you are becoming. You are such a sweet, kind and well mannered boy and are a friend to everyone you meet. You make us proud parents. You always strive to choose the right and do what is asked of you. You are smart and seek to learn all that you can, even when it comes to learning about the scriptures and church. I will often find you reading the scriptures and learning about the gospel. You are a wonderful brother to your little sister and truly look out for her well being. You are such a wonderful big brother to Karmindy and make us so proud to be your parents. We love you son and hope your 9th birthday was a wonderful one for you!

LaLaLoopsy Birthday Party Celebration

For Karmindy's Birthday this year, she asked to have a LaLaLoopsy Birthday Party. She has several of the cute little dolls and so it was easy to get on board with it! Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot of LaLaloopsy party stuff, so I had to really do some diggin' to find cute ideas and supplies. Thank you Internet and Pinterest!

I found some really cute invites online that were in our price range. The invites were also customizable so it was fun to make them just the way we wanted them!

Karmindy wanted to invite a couple of her guy friends to her party so I had to get creative and tailor the party to the boys too! We ended up deciding that we would do a baking party. Luckily, one of the LaLaloospy dolls likes to bake so we thought it would be perfect and fit right into our theme. We decided to make personal pizzas and eat cupcakes. I made each of the kids their own apron complete with button embellishments on them. They turned out super cute!

One day while browsing in the bakery Department at WalMart, I discovered that they make Lalaloopsy cupcake cakes! I was so excited...I love when things come together! They did a darling job on Karmindy's cake and Karmindy was super thrilled with her LaLaLoopsy cake!!

I loved how Karmindy's cake turned out! I almost hated to pull the cupcakes apart it was just so cute!

Karmindy invited 10 of her besties to her party. All of them but one came. We were sad that her friend Avery Wallin couldn't make it because of the flu. The kids had so much fun making their own Pepperoni Pizzas, coloring their own Lalaloopsy dolls, eating cupcakes, playing pin the cherry on the cupcake, relay races and Duck, Duck, Goose.

Karmindy was so excited to spend the afternoon with her friends. She also made out like a bandit with all the fun birthday presents she received. She got a few more Lalaloopsy dolls to add to her growing collection, a puppy dog, makeup, books, and Princess Legos. She was very spoiled and has some wonderful friends who came and supported her.

For the party gifts to her friends, we gave each child a tub of play doh, a couple of cookie cutters, a bracelet for the girls, bubbles for the boys and a ring pop.

I hope your 5th birthday was everything you hoped it would be Little Sister! Mom, sure loves planning parties for you and your brother!! Happy, Happy Birthday Karmindy Dear! We LOVE you!!

5 Years Old!!

It's hard to believe that Karmindy is 5 years old! I know all mom's express how much time is flying by but it really is passing by quickly. I have often felt like the days as a mom are long but the years pass by so very quickly. I am finding this to be true as the kids keep growing and as each year passes.

Karmindy was super excited for her birthday this year! She can use one whole hand to tell everyone how old she is! Days before her birthday, she expressed how excited she was! When the day finally came, she was thrilled. I woke up early to make Karmindy's favorite breakfast- Chocolate Chip pancakes. Both the kids had school on Karmindy's birthday so it was a rushed morning but Karmindy was thrilled to eat her pancakes, dress in a new outfit and necklace and bracelet and head to Preschool.

At Preschool she said that her classmates sang to her and she came home with a new pencil from her Pre School teacher, Ms. Gaylene.

After Preschool, we hung around all afternoon waiting for Kaleb and Dad to get home from school and get off work. When that time finally came, we headed to dinner at Mc Donalds (birthday girls choice!) and then we tried out our "Pass of All Passes" and headed to Planet play to play Mini Bowling and ride Go Karts. It was a really fun evening spent as a family.

After we got home we ate some French Silk Chocolate Pie and opened presents. Karmindy was super spoiled and got many nice gifts from Mom and Dad, Kaleb, and both sets of Grandparents. She got a lot of Lalaloopsy Dolls and was pretty excited about that. She also got a new book and got a couple outfits from grandma's, bath set/nail polish pampering kit, and money. So spoiled!!

Happy Birthday to such a sweet little lady! We love you Dee Dee Rose Bud!

8 years Old!!!

Happy 8th Birthday Kaleb!! Boy, is time a flying by! It's hard to believe that 8 years has passed. Kaleb was so excited to celebrate his 8th birthday. Turning 8 years old is a huge milestone in our families lives because we believe that the person that is turning 8 is finally old enough to be accountable for their choices. It is also an age where in our religion that we believe that we are old enough to decide to be Baptized and receive a special gift from our Heavenly Father- a gift that is called, "The Gift of the Holy Ghost." Kaleb has been very excited to get baptized. He was also excited to have a party with his friends.

This year for Kaleb's 8th Birthday he chose to have a Bowling Birthday party. Kaleb invited 6 of his friends to join him and go bowling for his special day. I found some really cute bowling invitations online and we sent those out.

This birthday was probably the easiest birthday party that I have had to plan yet for our kids. I was grateful that Kaleb chose an easy way to celebrate this year because I found out I would be having my gallbladder removed a week after the party was held because I was having terrible pains in my back after eating. It was horrible.

I had seen a cute bowling shirt that someone had showcased on a blog online and I wanted to make one for Kaleb to wear to his party. I was feeling pretty lousy but pushed through the pain and sewed him a cute bowling shirt. Kaleb was really thrilled with it and was so excited to wear it on the day of his party. I am so grateful that he still enjoys when I sew him things!

On the day of the party, the kids arrived and we opened presents, ate cake and ice cream and then headed to All Star Lanes Bowling in Sandy.

Kaleb and his friends had a wonderful time bowling. It was so fun to watch them bowl and try to beat their scores. Karmindy also had a fun time bowling and enjoyed hanging out with her older brothers friends. She thought she was pretty important!!

Kaleb said it was his best birthday yet and I am so glad that his day was a fun one! Mission Accomplished! Happy 8th Birthday Kaleb! We LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!

Happy 4th Birthday Karmindy!!

After Grandma Stewarts funeral and burial, we headed out to lunch to celebrate Karmindy's birthday. The birthday girl chose Mc Donalds for lunch and after we picked up lunch for the kids there, Mark and I swung by the Burger Bar for some more "grown up" food for us. We sat and ate lunch in the car and visited with the kids...it was nice to be able to spend time with them.
After we got home we let Karmindy open her presents. She was truly spoiled this year and got lots of nice gifts from us and her grandparents in Southern Utah. After presents we had cake and ice cream. Karmindy requested a Toy Story Cake and he wish was granted! She was thrilled!!

Karmindy and her birthday presents!

 The cute Birthday Girl!
Karmindy loved all her gifts but was especially excited for her Buzz Light Year Doll. She has been wanting one for so long that she was truly giddy with excitement when she opened her gift!!

Kaleb is a truly adoring brother to his little sister and really looks out for her welfare. He is truly kind and compassionate to his little sister. While opening presents he was really excited for her to open her Buzz Lightyear Doll. He drew her the sweetest card and was very excited to give it to her. Since he knew she likes all things Toy Story he drew Toy Story Characters all over it! Darling! He is so thoughtful of his little sister! It is so hard for me to believe that our Sweet Little Girl is 4!!
Happy Birthday Karmindy!
