Christmas Piano Recital

Back in August we switched Kaleb to a different piano teacher, her name is Kellina Norby. We decided to switch Kaleb from Tauna Broadhead to Kelli this semester because even though Tauna did a great job we didn't feel like Kaleb was progressing as well as he should be after taking for two years. Also, Kelli had majored in Music and Vocal so we thought we would give her a try. Kaleb has done very well over the course of the past few months while taking lessons from Kelli. Kaleb has worked so hard on practicing and memorizing his piano pieces this semester and did a great job preforming his pieces at his Christmas Piano Recital. The two pieces that he preformed were: "Angels we have Heard on High" and "Hedwigs Theme" from Harry Potter.  Kaleb is a huge Harry Potter fan and so I know "Hedwigs Theme" was his favorite piece to practice and perform. Kaleb did an excellent job and we couldn't be more proud of him and his amazing performances. Mark and I are both so proud of Kaleb for taking the time to memorize his pieces too. This boy has some amazing memorization skills!

Kaleb truly has put a lot of time into practicing and developing this amazing talent. I know there are many days that Kaleb gets discouraged from practicing and wants to quit because it gets difficult, but I sure hope he will stick with developing this amazing talent. We are so proud of you bud!!

Spring Piano Recital

I am so proud of Kaleb and all the hard work he has been putting into playing the piano for the past 2 years! Kaleb is so hard working and even though at times he hates practicing he has truly grown as a piano player and is developing a nice little talent. Kaleb takes from a cute neighbor lady, Tauna Broadhead. Kaleb has really enjoyed taking lessons from Tauna. For this year's spring piano recital, all of Tauna's students were given a movie theme song to practice and play for the recital. Kaleb was chosen to play, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." Kaleb enjoyed playing this number and spent many weeks practicing for the recital. The video above, is of him practicing one afternoon after school!
When the big night came, Kaleb knocked his piece out of the park and did awesome with out any mistakes. As parents, it has been so fun to watch Kaleb develop a talent that we know he has a natural ability at and learn and grow. We are so proud of you Kaleb and for the hard worker and wonderful young man you are. You make me so proud to be your mom!

Spring Piano Recital

It is hard to believe that Kaleb has taken a full year of piano lessons! He has been taking piano lessons from a cute lady in our ward, Tauna Broadhead. He has done extremely well with her as his teacher and has really got a great little talent that he is developing. I think he has a little bit of a natural ability so I truly hope he keeps practicing!
Last night, was his spring recital and it was held at our church building right by our home. Kaleb played the piece, "Chugga, Chugga Choo." It was a cute little tune that sounded just like a little train! Kaleb did a great job on his piece. We are so proud of you son for sticking with piano even when it is getting "hard." We love you Bud!

Fall Piano Recital

Back in July, Kaleb started taking Piano Lessons from a lady in our ward (Tawna Broadhead). Kaleb is loving piano lessons and has improved so much the past 4 months. It has been so fun as his parents to see the improvement in his playing. On November 27th, he had his very first piano recital. The recital was held at our church building in the Relief Society Room. He participated with 25 other kids and each one of them played a Holiday Song. Kaleb was assigned to play, "Over the River and Through the Woods." Kaleb nailed his piano piece. He did a wonderful job and we were so grateful to be able to go as a family and support him. What a special boy he is! It is such a treat to be able to watch him grow and progress at this new talent.

After the recital, we headed to Mc Donalds for dinner (kids choice). The kids enjoyed their happy meals and enjoyed playing on the playground for the rest of the evening. It was such a fun night out with our little family. We are so proud of you Kaleb and the hard work you have been putting in to developing this talent!
